The hotel is very environment-friendly and 90% of the hotel was constructed from products native to Hokkaido. This creates a very natural and calm environment - the smell of the Hokkaido Cherry wood helps to keep the guest rooms cozier, as do the woodlands surrounding the hotel. Rooms are located in either the Hidaka Wing or the Garden Wing. The Hidaka Wing rooms offers views of the mountains to the west. The Garden wing rooms have views of this hotels famous garden in the south and with the floor to ceiling windows, guests are made to feel that these rooms are an extension of the garden with plenty of natural light. Many of the materials used in the interior decoration of the hotel are products native to this area of Hokkaido, including wood (Hokkaido Cherry), paper (Washi) for the window blinds and lampshades, bricks and ceramics. All bathrooms also have floor to ceiling windows so that guests can enjoy their surroundings to the full.
The lobby is medium in size with few sitting spaces. The coffee lounge is just off from the lobby and has a very relaxed atmosphere.
There are few restaurants and bars, offers a various types of cuisine, all with a certain detail to local and fresh ingredients of this area.
The hotel is a 9-storey brick building, the bricks being specially made from Tokachi clay to blend with the natural surroundings. There are two wings to the hotel, the Hidaka wing and the Garden wing.
