The town
Guided walking tour of the town, a veritable invitation to travel back in time, every Saturday morning (payable locally). Departure from the tourist office.
Its 17th and 18th century mansions give great charm to the town, as does the majestic Cours Mirabeau with its archway of plane trees, the Hôtel de Forbin and the Italian style façade of the Hôtel Maurel-de-Pontévès.
The Mazarin quarter with the Hôtel de Caumont, the Arbaud Museum (collection of antique pottery), the Granet Museum (fine art and archaeology), located in the former Palais de Malte.
Other sites are the Law Courts, the Natural History Museum and the Town Hall. Boulegon Street (Paul Cézanne), the Old Aix Museum (history, folk art and traditions of Aix and the surrounding area), the old Archbishop's Palace and the Tapestry Museum.
The fountains in Aix and the Sextius thermal baths contribute to the local decor.
